Philip qualified as a solicitor in 1981.He moved to Bristol in 1983 and joined Wards as an Assistant Solicitor in 1986. He was made a Partner in the firm in 1992 and is based at our Staple Hill office.

Philip is a specialist family lawyer and an accredited specialist as recognised by Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association). He is also trained in Collaborative Family Practice, which is a new way for divorcing or separating couples to work together as a team with trained professionals, to resolve disputes respectfully, without going to court. He is a member of the Bristol branch of the Collaborative Family Lawyers Group and listed as a collaborative expert on the Resolution website.

He has been a member of Downend Round Table and is currently a member of the Fishponds & Downend Rotary Club, for whom he was President. He is also on the Trustee Board of the South Gloucestershire Citizens Advice Bureau.
