Senior lawyer retires after 40 years in practice

Solicitor, Ian Jerram, was given a surprise party by staff at Wards’ Weston-super-Mare office to celebrate his retirement from the firm. Ian trained with Alletson and Pollard in Wells and qualified as a solicitor in 1965. He joined Alletsons Solicitors in Weston-super-Mare in 1966, became a Partner in 1969 and was made senior partner of the firm in 1984. In 2003 Alletsons merged with Wards Solicitors and Ian joined the firm’s Weston office as a consultant.  He was formerly President of the Somerset Law Society and of the Weston-super-Mare and District Law Society.

Ian has extensive experience of most private client services but has more recently specialised in residential and commercial conveyancing. He comments: “The party was a great surprise. I’ve worked for over 40 years, which has gone by in a flash and I’ve enjoyed acting for a large and varied clientele in that time. I’m looking forward in my retirement to spending more time with my grandchildren and relaxing in my garden.”
