Wards expands City centre family law team - 19 April 2007

Emma Smalley recently qualified as a solicitor at Wards, after 18
months’ spent training with the firm, having joined their Bristol
City office in 2005.
Emma took her law degree at the
University of Bristol. Following this, she worked for a firm of
Bristol solicitors for 12 months, as a legal assistant, handling
public and private childcare law issues. During her training, she
spent time in the conveyancing and Wills & probate department but
the majority of her time was spent in the family law team, handling
childcare cases.
Now qualified, she has joined Wards’ Bristol city office family law
team. She has wide-ranging family law experience but, in particular,
is one of only a handful of lawyers locally who specialises in
public and private sector childcare law. She advises on issues such
as contact, residence and removal of children from the home.
Emma says: “I’ve enjoyed training with Wards, as the workload is
very varied. Now I’m qualified, I’m looking forward to meeting
existing Wards’ clients and also advising new ones in the area”.
