Jayne Penney, a specialist family lawyer, has joined our Weston-super-Mare office. She qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and has worked in the area of family law since that time. Apart from handling divorce and separation and their related financial resolution, she specialises in childcare issues, such as child protection, contact, residence and removal of children from the home.

She is a member of The Law Society’s Family Law Panel and a Childcare Representative on its Children Panel (one of only a handful locally). Only solicitors who meet the Law Society’s strict requirements are allowed to join these panels. They must specialise in family law, demonstrate in-depth legal knowledge, and be capable of dealing with clients in a skilful, considerate way.

 

Jayne works alongside Emma Smalley who works in our Broad Street office and who also specialises in public and private sector childcare law.

Jayne has worked for another law firm in Weston for many years and is actively involved in the local community. Jayne comments, "It's very satisfying seeing the transformation in those who have, with our assistance, been able to move on with their lives and regain their self-esteem again."
