Wards merges with South Gloucestershire law firm - 27th September 2006

Two local law firms, Wards Solicitors and David Hebblethwaite & Co, merged on 1 October 2006. David Hebblethwaite, who has practised in Chipping Sodbury since 1978 says: “I am pleased that on my retirement from private practice to follow a new direction within the law, the merger with Wards Solicitors will give my clients access to an extended range of services that are still available locally, providing a friendly and top quality legal service.”

David Hebblethwaite’s business will be transferred with immediate effect to Wards’ Yate office at 19 West Walk. Solicitor Silvie Jones and Legal Executive Marion Wheatley will both be working from Wards’ office following the merger, along with most of David Hebblethwaite’s support staff.

Nigel Murray, a partner at Wards’ Yate office comments: “Since re-opening our Yate office a few years ago, we have been looking for the chance to expand our client base and are pleased that David Hebblethwaite agreed to the merger. David Hebblethwaite’s clients will gain from the continuity of staff, whilst both existing and new clients will also benefit from our increased investment in private and business law services and infrastructure over the coming months.”

The merged firm will operate under the Wards Solicitors banner and is located at 19 West Walk, Yate.
